Sometimes called sudden fiction or micro fiction, Flash Fiction is a short very short really short story. The plan for the class is that each participant will finish a complete work of Flash Fiction during the class time. Writing the first draft of anything is a messy process. We’ll experiment with a few methods of facing the blank screen, the blank page. And then we’ll write that first draft and read it to the group. As we listen to what others have written we’ll mention things that work and point out passages we like. We’ll talk about some revising techniques, and have another pass at out stories. And then we’ll do it again – read and revise and read again. And then you’ll go home and send your story off to publishers of Flash Fiction. // SUPPLIES YOU’LL NEED FOR CLASS: Bring your favorite high or low tech writing tools—laptop, slices of paper and writing utensil, tablet, typewriter, etc. As long as you are able to write and then read your writing to class. //

Bring one of the following:
food to share with the group
organic French Roast coffee – drip grind or whole bean
salad bowl
your favorite CA wine
